User Interface (UI) Overview

The Edit Menu

The Edit menu provides essential controls for configuring the global settings of your workspace, including the physical units used by the simulation engine and the appearance of your canvas.

Here is a breakdown of every option in the Edit menu:

  • Undo: Reverts your last action on the canvas (such as deleting a pipe, moving a component, or drawing a new node). You can also trigger this quickly using the standard keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Z.
  • Units...: Opens the Unit Settings modal. This is a critical dialog where you define the physical measurement units for your entire project.

  • Canvas Properties...: Opens a dialog to customize the visual appearance of your drawing space. Currently, this allows you to change the Background Color of the canvas using a color picker, which is useful for setting up high-contrast themes or preparing your network for screenshots.

  • Chart Settings...: Opens a dialog to configure how live telemetry data is displayed during a transient simulation. Here, you can adjust the Sliding Window Size (minutes), which determines how much historical data is visible at a single time on your telemetry charts as the simulation runs.

[!IMPORTANT] Properly configuring your Units before building out a large network is highly recommended to ensure all your input values (like pipe diameters and tank elevations) are interpreted correctly by the hydraulic solver!
